Commodity-Oriented Resellers require an
Acclimatization Period for their wideplank wood flooring lumber — The lumber
must be STICKERED carefully — stacked with evenly spaced cross-sticks between
every row — to support the lengths without 'sagging' — This time-consuming
and space-wasting process must be done within the building in which the
flooring is to be installed
and
under enclosed and ideal heat, humidity and
ventilated conditions. Assuming, you "do-it-right", the sheer time and space
required to 'evenly' distribute and Sticker thousands of pound of lumber, places
you in an 'impassable' position ... 'tripping over your own lumber' — and
inhibiting most indoor construction — for ten (10) to fourteen (14) days before
installation of your wideplank floor can begin. In addition, Stickering causes
"Cross-Strain" and Sticker Marks (UVL).
Whereas, Stickering is not an issue as
Marreed-Prestman maintains proper
Kiln-Pitch * using controlled indoor
storage and Just-in-Time (JUT) Delivery ... No Acclimatization Period (or
Stickering) is required for 'local' hand-delivered product whether you chose my
Full Installation or DIY: Do-it-Yourself Lumber Supply.
Lastly, Stickered Lumber must be unstickered and
sorted by length prior to starting the job as it is unadvisable and impractical
to draw the various lengths of lumber you require from a heavy and inaccessible

when you have to
complete your new-build or renovation project near schedule.

"Price
is King" ... When "Price-is-King", you
may be shopping for short-term gain ... be cautious about Wideplank flooring
material (of any kind) that is of mixed species and/or inconsistent
widths. Substandard Grades, Air Dried, V-Joint (top edges), and 'unpredictable
storage', etc. as these are just a few items "you will eventually pay for"
with regret.

Substandard materials will cause "a problem floor" in an otherwise valuable
property ... 'substandard' products are sold everywhere by 'trusted'
Commodity-Oriented Resellers. For example, walk into a "Big Box" store
and locate "Canada Grade "A"-Select 2"X4" Spruce lumber and 'experience'
disappointment and disbelief that such substandard product can be STAMPED with
a "Mill Rating" of Canada: Grade "A"-Select.
It is sloppiness in sourcing and retailing, plain and simple.
Price is King!

Your Actual Requirements
Be fair to yourself ... determine your
actual requirements before 'factoring' prices...
In my experience, people
rush to guesstimate their flooring requirements which falsely encourages or
discourages them when they calculate the cost of their flooring project ... if
you underestimate your requirements, you may be surprised by the actual
square footage and appropriate budget requirement ... if you overestimate
you may 'disqualify' yourself based on false 'pricing' information. Neither
situation is advantages.
Calculate your actual sq. ft. flooring requirements as accurately as
possible? This exercise may surprise you .... if you are
building or renovating an 1,850 sf. house, you may only require 1,250 sf. of
'distressed' Wideplank Red Pine Flooring plus, utility flooring.
1a)
Measure the interior of each room (excluding walls, including
closets) then, remove the footprint for the kitchen and
bathroom cabinets/counters, tubs/showers, staircase, fireplace/stove base
areas and closets that you may not want done, etc., to determine a fair
measure. (Remember, 'building plans' may change. Avoid 'exterior' dimensions.)
1b) Consider
Cutting/Fitting 'waste' ... it may be higher than expected, as this, in part, changes
as your plans progress, depending on the 'complexity' of the 'final' floor
layout, belated floor plan changes including cabinets, counters,
bathroom fixtures, fireplace, stairs and wall locations ... but, more importantly, consider the skill, experience and efficiency of the installation crew.
1c) Consider your budget
requirements. If budget is "an issue" when considering "wall-to-wall"
then, consider doing selective areas ... the critical living areas while using utility flooring in other areas. Keep
in mind, the more types of flooring used, the more "chopped-up" your home or
cottage will look.

Stairways are not to be included in square
footage measurements. Stair Risers, Treads and Mouldings are priced
separately.

Date are reserved only upon clearance of Deposit*.

All Orders are 'final
sale' and Principals are responsible for full payment as
contracted and invoiced, without exception.
2. A Delivery Order scheduled, but delayed, by the Client) is
subject to a 'Controlled Storage/Heating/Ventilation' Fee of
ten ($ 10. pd) dollars per day.
3. Delay
Delivery beyond the agreed delivery date — or mutual 'window
of opportunity' — are rescheduled at the sole discretion of
Marreed-Prestman — without compensation — so as not to
inconvenience other Clients awaiting pre-scheduled delivery
and/or installations and/or finishing.

Installation then, have the finishing done by a local
tradesperson to reduce cost of my Expertise, Travel and

Delivery Lead Time
DIY Lead Time for Delivery is dependent on receipt of your
Deposit
and on availability (width, quantity, season, etc.).
"RUSH SERVICE" may be available, subject to product
width availability and
a nominal (2%) RUSH SERVICE Charge.
Quantity-Discounted Pricing,
Bonus Savings, Regional Incentives and Deposit apply to the Original

Local Installation and DIY: Do-It-Yourself SKILLS?
DIY's require the knowledge, time and skill
required to install*, sand finish their flooring. If you require
"experienced help", consider a local carpenter or floor finisher with proven
qualifications.
* The Client is responsible
for IMMEDIATE INSTALLATION (within five [5] days) of delivery in order to
maintain "Mill Readiness and Kiln-Pitch and avoid 'abusive handling or
storage' which will affect the flatness and straightness of the lumber.
